Escape Room Design System

The ESCAPE ROOM DESIGN SYSTEM is built on two core components: an adaptable canvas and a set of flexible assets.

1. Adaptable Canvas

The Adaptable Canvas is a neutral, minimal foundation designed to flex across different environments and narratives without losing identity. This is achieved through a set of non-negotiable elements that act as the system’s backbone:

1. Neutral foundation: A minimal, controlled base that allows visual flexibility without noise (black or white, no color)
2. Display typography: The primary typography remains a constant anchor across all execution with "display-driven" elements: bold, expressive, and highly recognizable
3. Relies in clarity of form: Strong, intentional shapes, compositions and materials that are easy to recognize and remain consistent across applications. Example: mirror-like mascots.

These elements are not subject to change. They sustain the core concept of the “ESCAPE ROOM PARTY” and ensure continuity across every edition.

2. Flexible Assets System

Built on top of this foundation is a system of flexible assets, designed to enable variation without breaking identity. These elements adapt per event while remaining grounded in the core system:

1. Sculptural material-driven mascots: Designed as material-driven objects. Not fixed in color or style. Absorb and reinterpret their environment. Can be tonalized to match each event’s palette and lighting.
2. Adaptive color palettes: Defined per edition. Support the environment rather than dominate it. Typically limited to a controlled set of primary and accent tones.
3. Environmental textures & materials: Each event defines its own material world (e.g. salt, sand, metal, glitch). Used to enhance immersion, never as decoration.
4. Atmosphere & lighting: Adjusted to reinforce mood and narrative. Works in harmony with surfaces and color system.

All flexible elements operate in service of the specific narrative context of each event, while remaining anchored to the system’s non-negotiable principles.
